On the other hand, bioinformatics heavily contributes to the identification of new fundamental computer science principles and the development of new informatics tools. This expertise is used to address issues like data capturing, data warehousing, data analysis and data mining that have become major challenges in the field of Bioinformatics due to the tremendous complexity and abundance of quantitative data in biology and medicine. The main focus of the Bioinformatics specialisation is on Data Analysis and Modeling, which represents the unique expertise of the different research groups of Leiden University and the Delft University of Technology participating in this research oriented specialisation. The three universities are also working together on Master's tracks: specialisations that form part of Master's programmes. The TU Delft, Leiden University (LUMC) and Erasmus University Rotterdam (Erasmus MC) offer a unique interdisciplinary joint-degree Master programme in technical medicine. Leiden University Master Technical Medicine The Master’s in Quantum Information Science & Technology (QIST) is a cooperation between Delft University of Technology and Leiden University. This multidisciplinary program involves researching, designing and building quantum information processing systems such as quantum computers, quantum communication networks and quantum sensors.

Master Nanobiology Quantum Information Science & Technology The Master's degree programme in Nanobiology is a joint degree programme from Delft University of Technology and the Erasmus University Medical Centre (Erasmus University Rotterdam). This is an emerging scientific discipline in which technical, environmental, and social aspects are integrated.ĭelft University of Technology Master Nanobiology Industrial Ecology is sometimes referred to as the ‘science of sustainability’.
